Manage the ICT infrastructure operations team to provide a stable, reliable, secure and effective ICT infrastructure environment for multiple locations in Europe, meeting the business requirements.

Your Challenge:

In the role of ICT Infrastructure Operations Lead you will be responsible for the availability, maintenance, security and reliability of ICT workplaces (e.g.: laptops, desktops, printers, phones, etc.) and local server rooms (e.g.: servers, storage, switches, back-up units, etc.) for multiple European locations.

Your main activities will include:

  • Pro-active maintenance and support of the ICT infrastructure environment
  • Recruit, develop, coach and manage the ICT infrastructure operations team members
  • Solve and prioritize ICT infrastructure related issues, ensuring that the issues are resolved in line with agreed work instructions and service level agreements
  • Ensure the security of the ICT infrastructure environment by defining security requirements, implementing security measures and creating security awareness
  • Involve second line support and third line support (external vendors) as required
  • Create, maintain and improve standards, processes and work instructions for the ICT infrastructure operations team, ensuring alignment with ICT standards and processes and taking into account internal and external best practices
  • Manage ICT vendors and contracts
  • Support ICT infrastructure improvements and drive the knowledge transfer to the ICT infrastructure operations team
  • Control ICT infrastructure cost in line with company rules and within ICT budget and ensure accurate cost allocation
  • Monitor, control and report on ICT infrastructure operations activities, risks and issues to ICT management and business stakeholders

Job requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor degree in business or computer sciences
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in medium or big sized ICT infrastructure department on a European scale, ideally in a comparable (management) position
  • Experience in a multi-site production environment
  • Broad and in-depth specialist knowledge of a complex, hybrid (on premise and cloud) ICT infrastructure environment (hardware and software)
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with ITIL processes (e.g.: issue management, problem management, change management, etc.)

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel (~20% mostly in Europe)
  • Fluent in English and preferably sufficient in German
